Performance Chips

I have an '03 996 and am in the market for a performance chip. Anyone have some experience, personal preference, etc...?

Im interested in chipin my 03 Cab along w a v flow intake. But ive heard conflicting reports. I heard if u have the 3.4 Carrera youll see gains.. if you got a 3.6 you wont see a difference. Im curious too to see if anyone with a 3.6 is pleased with these performance upgrades from first hand experience and recommend this

Not really worth it by itself. Adding an exhaust and new air filter can yield some small hp and torque gains. Not really worth it IMHO unless you love mods and are way out of warranty.

BEST MOD EVER!!!!! Do with exhaust, headers, and intake. You will love it!

Spend $5-6K and you will get 20-30 hp max ie <10% gain. Good luck!

(DallasBoats) Do u have these mods? I have the Fabspeed Bi Pass Pipes. So if i get a GIAC Flash and the V Flow Intake it will be worth it?

What do you call worth it? Some people spend $16k on the X51 pakckage for 30 hp from the factory and find it worth it. Some people spend $5k for non factory 30 hp and loss of warranty and find it worth it. Some people think none of this is worth it.

Something that warrants a difference in performance. I hear you everyone has their opinion on something. Thats y i was wondering if someone had these mods and can speak from first hand exp. For instance i had a BMW 330 a few years ago and had them put a Dinan CAI and comp software and throttle bodies. B4 the mods my friend had a 6spd Maxima we raced it from 0-120 i got him off the line but as we kept goin close to 100 he started gainin on me and prob would have past me after 120. After the mods i smoked him and stayed smoked on him and all that 4 1500 bones. In my opinion thats worth it. Just wondering if youll see a difference like that from these mods.

Maybe I think you bought the wrong car. 0-xxx is not what N/A 911 excel in, handling is their forte. Get an M3 or M5.

I think your missin the point man. We all want speed man. I had a M3 it was a good car but if you can make a car quicker.. a little faster for moderate money then hey why not. All im sayin is the mods for my 330 was worth it...the question remains is the Chip worth it. Like you said everyone has their own opinion

I wouldn't do the mods, you will not improve the performance by much. But it can make you feel better about your car, this has no price. Whichever you decide, enjoy, it is a great car!

Is this just an opinion or are there some dyno sheets to back it up?

All I can say is my so called small gain of 12-15 hp to the wheels using the GIAC and Evo makes me quicker than a stock 2000 996 Coupe and I like that.

For my year 2000 996 I added sport mufflers, GIAC reflash and Evo air intake system and am extremely pleased...From the seat of my pants I feel a dramatic performance increase and at 5000 rpm the sound is intoxicating....I can't stop grinning.....

Yes, I have the mods. Yes, my car is considerably quicker than other 996's. Many will tell you "no" this does not work, however they probably don't have the mods and can't speak other than opinions. IT IS FASTER, for those that say no, let's meet up and I'll show you......................... BTW, so does weight reduction, pull out as much weight as possible, it's very noticeable even by seat of pants.
