Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone got any questions on Project - Engine Mount Replacement for your Porsche 996 / 997 Carrera? Here's a back link to the original article: Pelican Technical Article: 10-ENGINE-Engine_Mount_Replacement -Wayne

POST 2Original post

I notice that in the photo, the jack is on the oil pan. I have read that is a no-no. Is it ok in this situation since the jack is just supporting the engine? Would you get the same result if you placed the jack at the rear of the engine behind the oil pan?

POST 3Original post

I'm kind of wondering about the oil pan lift placement. Staff? TC

POST 4Original post

When I did it, I placed the jack right in front of the oil pan, on the solid looking engine seam(ish) part.
