Did any of the tuners ever do one? There were loads done on the 930/964/993 etc by Gemballa, DP, and Porsche themselves etc, but did anyone, big or small ever do one on the 996...? I can see that fashions have moved on, but would be interesting to find out Here are some pics on the bonkers Gemballa Extremo based on the 993 to wet the appetite!

I think you'll find that is a Japanese monstrosity trying to look like a Porsche! If your eyes allow, check out the sunroof, roof line, windows, wing mirrors, door handles, seats etc etc. Not Pork, but overcooked Sushi!

I hope that is a late '80s Ford Escort done up to look like a Quattro (well if you squint). If it is a Quattro, I shed a tear for a lost icon. If only it been left unmolested it would be about the only thing to appreciate this recession, other than the price of gold and D. Cameron's chances of PM.

Haha, no actually I just googled 996 conversion and it came up in 'images'. It started as a serious search, apologies tedwedz for taking your thread this way, but I was sure there was a conversion I had seen but for the life of me can't find it on here or google. That gold joke is an Acura (Honda) Integra...dont worry I was never in any doubt! FWIW I think very few can out Porsche Porsche when it comes to design, what they do well or what they do badly :grin:

No worries, quite amusing! Im still amazed no one seems to have done one! There are a lot of bad taste conversions on porsches out there, seems obvious!
The funny thing on that 944 picture (which first thought from first pic was, hold on that's a rare 924 Carrera GT, until I saw the second photo....) is that if you look closely, either he is trying to out-do his neighbour with an equally chavvy attempt, or he has done it to more than one! Without getting taken away by the style police after the first one! :wack:
