You know, I knew dealers were on the take but this one even shocked me. This car was for sale private on PH for 15995 this week and turns up on a forecourt this weekend for 20k nice work if you can get it eh? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Porsche-911-C...s_UK?hash=item3ef8f3345d&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

That's spooky... While you were posting this, I was talking on the phone to the dealer in question about a Maserati!!! He did mention he'd just bought a 996 and had to spend a few quid getting it up to scratch for the forecourt. The thing is, I bet he'll sell it quicker at £20k with a 12 month warranty, than anyone could sell it privately at £16k without... :thumb: You pays your money and takes your choice... and I know which deal I would go for out of the two with a 996 3.4 engine too old for a Porsche warranty! :thumb:
Well its expected... The dealer has the cash and will go after any car that might give a good margin and as Wattie said very likely will spend a bit of cash to fix it up. And also you need to assume that a potential buyer might bring the price down a bit So the dealer will end up making a couple of K profit At the end of the day someone might go and buy a 16K car with the plan to spend another 4K to take it to the level that it should be or another person would be more confortable to pay 20K and have it ready to start with.....
3600cc? 315bhp?
Obviously a well versed Porsche dealer..... "Silver Brake Calipers" clinched it for me
