Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi,this is my first posting, and not a happy one.Putting my Cayman S on the drive this Saturday 06 model,I noticed a horrible rattling sound from the rear of the car at first I thought maybe a heat shield had come loose but on inspection today it appears to be in the gearbox. The cars warranty ended in April but the car has only done 11000 miles drives perfect but the noise when idling is bad.Are Porsche likely to take a sympathetic view ? by the way I'm in the UK.

POST 2Original post

Can you tell us more about exactly when this rattle happens?

POST 3Original post

Car has been in Porsche dealership today and they say the problem is between 2nd and 3rd gear, requires an exchange box £3750.However they are going to see if Porsche will accept a sympathetic claim and will let me know tomorrow, fingers crossed.

POST 4Original post

Just had a similar problem with my Cayman between 3rd and 4th. Have to say it was an issue that was covered by porsche. Luckily. Hope it all worked out.

POST 5Original post

Looks like Porsche are accepting the claim, new box being fitted this week F.O.C. yipeeeeeeeeeee

POST 6Original post

Funny thing is that I thought the warranty was 4yr 50k. How is it that your car is out of warranty?
