Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi. Have you felt the carpet on your 987 on the bottom? Both are wet from either water leaking down or water splashing up between the bottom of the door and the bottom of the entrance to the vehicle. Any thoughts? Thank you

Do a search. This has been covered many times on this very site.

POST 3Original post

I had a 99 Boxster with the same problem. As it turned out, mice had gotten into my engine compartment and blocked the two drain holes at the rear of the compartment. Instead of coming out behind the the rear wheels the water was coming in behind the seats and soaking the floor whenever I washed the car or got caught in heavy rain. Had to remove the seats, lift the carpet and put a fan and heater in there to dry everything. Mice did other damage too that was too extensive to get into!!!!!

Thank you for your replies. That happened to the guy I bought the car from. I did the same thing plus take apart the immobilizer unit under the seat and wrap it and seal it in plastic in case it fills with water. So far it hasn't overheated. But the carpet I am speaking about is the door. Feel under the door and the bottom of the door panel where there is carpet. Mine are both wet.
