Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi - quick question, my MOT has just come back with a small weep on the o/s front shock, so I'm looking for a pair for the front, but on searching, I've a choice between Bilstein B4's and B6's? No real interest in upgrades, just want it swapped out for original parts, so can anyone confirm that the B4's were the OE? Cheers

POST 4Original post

Think that the B6 are monotube where as B4 are twintube. Front only. Rears on both B4 and B6 are monotube. Therefore B6 is in theory, the better damper. Who knows whether you'd feel the difference on the road? I've got B8's which are shortened B6. Very happy with them. Probably better than MO30 but stiffer than stock.
