Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I recent purchased 04 996 GT3 and was quite shocked to read about all the coolant pipe failures that are common on these engines . My question to Australian owners is who do you see about getting the coolant pipes welded or pined in OZ. My car has relatively low K,s on it 39000 but from what I have read on this site and other forums is that the issue seems to relate more to age of the engine and not the the K,s on it,,,,eg the break down of the glue over time that holds the hose ends in place. I think this is something that needs to be done as my car is now ten years old and I would rather take action to prevent the issue of coolant pipe failure then wait till it happens ,,currently there are no signs or indicators off any issues , I am just trying to think ahead to avoid the problem and enjoy my car ............
