Hi, I just took pics of the Sound Symposer on my 991 where this part helps to amplify your racing's intake sound. I think it would be the same on 981. If you want to disable this, what will you do? someone told me to cover it with sock 555. Enjoy!

Nah, not really. BMW synthesizes engine sounds for you. Porsche places sound deadening between you and the intake manifold so you can have a quiet car if you desire, and then gives you the option of piping the sort of actual intake sounds past the sound deadening by pushing the sport button.
Its not user adjustable???? MP4-12C also has this, I dont like it as it sounds like a farty noise down a drainpipe. LOL
