Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

About a mile from home today I noticed a bit of steam at teh rear of the car. Got home to find much steam and coolant splashed around the engine bay. The source seems to be on the right hand side as you look into the bay (ie the driver's side). No apparent problem in driving and only noticed it close to my destination. Id been filling up with petrol 2 miles before and nothing there so its only gone it seems in the final mile or so of the journey. Please tell me this is a loose hose! Any help or diagnostics much appreciated. Coolant terrifies me since my Elise days and Im hope

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Happy days, puncture in short length of rubber hose. Not even that hard to access thankfully and looks like a DIY fix. Will post a pic for some helpful person to describe and name the hose!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Few pictures here of the offending tube/hose. the second and third pics are best. Its short, held by two circlips and hides just in behind the airbox. The part code is only partly visible and reads 996.106.30? Cant be certain about the 30 and the third number is not readable. Can anyone ID the component and part number please? Its a 996 TT. Off to try myself. [/img] [/img]
