Hi have got hold of a PSE form the porsche shop cheap . just had a query if anyone had ever fitted one or experience. my local porsche dealer wants £500 to fit is this excessive? i know fitting the switch must be a bit of a pain but just wondered how bad it is. car is a C4s Cab tip from 2004 the sound is ok but really wanted to improve it and i love the idea of being able to calm it during those early mornings. I take it i will experience a big sound difference? cheers

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Fitting the silencers themselves isn't too bad, but wiring up the switch to the dash takes quite a lot of time. Book time for the whole job is 7.5 hours!!
Is there such thing as a cheap PSE?!
As Richard says, fitting the back boxes is relatively simple. Easiest way is to remove the back bumper, then remove all the heat shields, then you have clear sight of the back boxes. The biggest problem will if the clamp holding the backbox to the cat is rusted, but these are easy to grind off if so. I would have thought 2 hours for the back boxes would cover it, 3 at a push. Fitting the wiring for the switch is not something I've done. Why not give it a go yourself? Doing these things yourself gives you a better understanding of the car and how it's put together.
