Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Any thoughts out there on this? Just completed a replacement of my gauge cluster face on my ‘08 Boxster. Ordered a white background cluster face from Heiler-Technodesign and did the replacement today. All went well, although I felt like a brain surgeon dissecting the itty-bitty parts. Buttoned everything up, and started the car and all looked good. However, got a message that there was a PSM failure. After some research found that this is normal and the car needs to be driven for a bit and the error will clear itself. And the Miles to Empty reads 999, but again, the computer needs to recalibrate after some driving, as expected. But while idling in the driveway, I noticed that the Temperature gauge didn’t budge after 10-15 minutes. Some research on different forums revealed similar issues, mainly due to the loss of voltage from the battery being disconnected. Being dark with heavy thunderstorms in the area I didn’t get a chance to take it for a decent drive, but I’m hoping it will rectify itself. Anyone have any experience with this, and will it resume normal operation? Thanks in advance for any responses.
