Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I met a fellow member today droping his kids off at day care. This was the 2nd 996 owner I met dropping off in the last 4 months. The funny thing is that we we all had 2 kids. This got me to realizing how amazing our cars combine performance and utility.

POST 2Original post

Now that's a cute picture! Looks like you have happy backseat passengers Only get's better as they get older. At 7, my sister's daughter would ask for a ride in the 'magic car', and then all she could say during the drive was 'can we go faster, Can we go faster?' LOL She's going to be a handful when she get's to driving age! Chris.

POST 3Original post

my daughters alwasy ask me for the weather before going to sleep so they can decide if they want to ride the 996 with top-down in the monring. :-)

POST 4Original post

I just got a 996 cab also and my 6 and 7 year old love to go to school in the Porsche also. They hate it when it is cold in the morning and we dont take it.

POST 6Original post

Can you tell us what seats you have in your cab? I have the slim Britax booster for my 3 and 1/2 year old but want to put my 2 yr. old in also. It looks like you have the seats cocked sideways a bit. True?

POST 7Original post

Great pic!!! My 10 year old daughter rats me out to my wife if I even squeal the tires, but my 6 year son will cruise all day in the twisties at 8 tenths with no worries. My 18mo old rides with me to get bagels on Sunday mornings.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Unfortunatley they are not always happy back there when the sun is bright...this photo was taken about 15 minutes later. I have Eddie Bauer seats (Costco) in there. My son has a booster seat and my daughter has a regular car seat. I went to several stores and picked the ones with the smallest backs. They fit fine with the cushions out, they are strait, the picture may have made it looked cocked. The trick is to make the seat tight by pulling the seat belt out all the way, kneeling on the car seat and forcing as much of the seat belt back through the guide as possible. I am very **** and I feel comfortable with the way they are in.

Hi Jim, That was me today. Great meeting you and your two little ones. Send me an email via my profile. Great pics of the cab ! -Paul

POST 10Original post

Absolutely agree on the uselfullness of our cars. No other "Sports" car out there that gives you the performance, economy and everyday usefullness of having two small back seats. I do have to admit that my driving position is a little bit compromised in order to allow my daugther a little more leg room but both kids do really enjoy riding in it and taking short family trips. -Paul
