Hi all Decided to have a look at the cdr 23 today on my 2003 C4S to see what i need to replace it with an aftermarket Bluetooth unit. I removed it and found an atrocious installation of a Parrot speaker mute unit that had been previously fitted. I removed the inline plug and loom adaptors and found a switched ignition feed had been installed, but when reinstalling the plugs to the head unit it seems as if there is an extra yellow plug that doesn't have a home so to speak. There are a two cables that are cut in the loom feeding this plug that are then joined to two other cables feeding the plug. They look to be soldered with heat shrink and of a better standard than the Parrot unit cabling that had been installed And could be modified OEM. My questions are, what is this plug for, where does it go, and do I need it? Also, now I've put the head unit back in, it shows 'Protect' and does not play or allow the tuner to work, I'm sure I've read somewhere this is normal and there's an easy fix? Any help gladly welcomed. Thanks all. Andrew Photos of the cabling and plugs

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

...I think the yellow plug is for the CD changer ?
Ahh that would make sense, I don't have one and no place on the rear of the head unit for it, but a generic loom would seem likely. Thanks
