Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi there just trying to confirm the correct colour of my car the paint code from the sticker in the service book is L3AZ on the porsche club uk index it lists 3AZ as ocean blue metallic my question i does the "L" mean anything is diferent or is it just a special order indicator? got a few "parking" chips from the supermarket run and want to order a touchup kit from porshesop on line but they list 6 different blues so just want to be sure thanks in advance cheers tim

POST 2Original post

L is short for 'Lack' - German for 'Paint'. 3AZ is what you need. The touch-up stick might come with 3AY on it, which is the code for conventional paint. 3AZ is the water-based paint they used at the factory.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

hi again thanks very much for the info Richard just wasnt sure and now you explained makes perfect sense cheers tim

POST 4Original post

Ah, I had wondered why my touch up paint was 3AY but my paint code was 3AZ - thanks for clearing that mystery up for me

POST 5Original post

i went into my OPC and they pulled my reg up from a computer which told them the exact colour for that year (lapis blue in my case) and gave me an exact match for the paint there and then. £10 got me a mini touch up kit - sorted
