Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Having sold my 996 just on the verge of closing a deal on another one. Before I go forward what do people think of tan interiors on black cars? I have not had one with tan leather and wonder if it would be harder to shift on than say black leather?

POST 2Original post

I think it looks great - a really nice contrast. Natural Brown in particular. Others don't like it, but I think it looks classy to have a contrasting interior. If YOU like it, go for it. Unless you are considering something outlandish, like Nephrite Green, I don't believe it greatly affects saleability. I had no problem selling my Ocean/Savannah C2, and the buyer commented that he really liked the interior colour compared to 'boring black'. It makes the inside of the car feel much more spacious and airy. Sometimes (on a dull day) I feel like I'm in a coal hole in mine, and it's a sight more difficult to keep looking clean and dust-free.

What do you think of tan interiors on black cars? That is assuming you aren't buying it for the forum as a group pool car? If you are, firstly thanks, and secondly I think they are much nicer than yellow cars with black interiors! Black/Tan is definitely classy on MB CLKs and other "cruisers" - unfortunately, in the fickle world of Porsche it seems anything other than Black/Black (or at a pinch Silver/Black) is resale death! Good luck from the doom blue one with metropole malaise!

POST 4Original post

I think it looks great. I've always preferred a contrasting and lighter interior in a Porsche. I had a 930 turbo in black with cashmere (tan) leather looked stunning IMHO

POST 5Original post

Think I will put the price of mine up! Back on topic. I agree, Tan in a Black car looks great. I suppose a few folk see Brown or Tan as not a sporty enough colour for a sports car? Have they never seen a Red Ferrari with Tan hide? Infact, I saw a 360 the other day Red with Black leather, it just looked wrong not to have Tan. As said, YOU like it then go for it.

POST 6Original post

friend of mine just sold his dark green car with savannah interior, the guy came over from France to buy it, sold within a week. Not my cup of tea, I prefer doom blue with metropole malaise :floor: TB

POST 7Original post

Its a Marmite combination, love it or hate it :nooo:

POST 8Original post

Personally I quite like it, would have an intersting colour over straight black anyday.

POST 9Original post

 black/black is like sitting in a coal bucket

POST 10Original post

I think it looks best on black cars, not so on others especially red, I would buy balck with tan interior. But if I had a choice I would order a new 997 convertible in Rosso Red (Ferrari) with a creme interior, that would be my favourite, but as my names not Ernie els or Tiger woods, ill stick with my arctic silver black combo, regards Mike

POST 11Original post

Go for it Barrie, the pimp-look might suit you !

POST 13Original post

My local OPC have a few cars with tan/choco interior and they look quite good. But what do I know - mines purple/grey.

POST 14Original post

You're not a man til you've had a tan! I would buy one, but then again one of my favourite colour schemes is grey with red interior, so perhaps best not to trust my opinion :floor:

POST 15Original post

Works for me as well, I think it looks great in the flesh  Again, like J90RDN, I am an owner of the slightly braver Basalt Black/ Boxster Red combination so would probably be expected
