Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Suncoast Porsche has a pair of GT3 seats waiting for me at the shop! I can't wait to get them installed. When I get them, I'm going to sell my sport seats (only 4 months old!) I have someone who is very interested in my take-off. I want to make sure I give him a fair price. Anyone care to share their experiences?

My order sheet lists it at option "AP" Black Sport Seats

New, sport seat cost $400 + $360 if you do not have Full Leather. So on a base car, if you got Sport Seats, you'd be looking at $760. If you got Full Leather, then they would cost just $400. But these are option costs. If someone had a damaged seat and needed to replace it I would expect it to cost well over $1,000 each because of the airbags in them. Call the Porsche dealer and ask what a replacement seat would cost. Then call a Porsche salvage yard like Pelican parts, ask them what they get for a used set. They may even be intersted in buying them off of you. Also call a body shop that repairs Porsches and tell them what you are doing. If they are like new, a body shop will be happy to buy them from you for the next Porsche that comes in with blown airbags. They can install them and then charge the insurance company the going rate. I know, it sounds unethical, but it's really not as long as they list it as a used part. After all, in an accident the insurance company is require to reteunr a car to 'pre-crash' condition, which is always used to some extent. Do you have the adaptive sport seats? If so, those are very expensive and therefore more desirable.

If they had speed yellow backs I'd buy them...

Bumper Plugs has painted damn near every interior surface of your car - save for the drivers *** (so I've heard) I'm sure they'd paint 'em for you!

POST 7Original post

They seats are not available as a "whole". Suncoast Porsche tells me you have to purchase five different "components" - the total cost of which exceeds $5k each! They also told me they sold a set of older 996 sport seats on eBay for $1,800+. An eBay search turned up a set of new "take-offs" for $2,500. That's a lot more money than I thought they'd get. ....but you make a good point - the airbags alone in the seats are EXTREMELY valuable.

For those interested, I posted a Classified Ad for my sport seats.
