Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am in the midst of a large maintenance/upgrade project to my 2000 S and part of which is RMS/IMSB/DOF. I'm getting ready to drop the transaxle and removing all of the necessary components. I found that the bolt holding the slave cylinder in place was loose. So loose, in fact, that a half-turn with my hand and it was off. There was a clutch job done by the previous owner (shop, not DIY) about 8000 miles ago, so I'm guessing they never torqued the bolt down or maybe just started it by hand and never put a wrench on it. Either way, I'm really glad I didn't put this maintenance off until fall. This could have been a very dangerous situation.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
