Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi all- I was hoping the board could help me out with a problem. About two months ago I noticed that when I turned the ignition on (but not the car, i.e. to check oil), I heard a buzzing noise I had never heard before (had the car about 10 months before this problem). Sounds like some sort of servo motor and lasted just a few seconds. It is in the very front of the dash to the left of the steering wheel. Did not affect cars performance or service, so I waited until my next dealer visit. I brought the car to the dealer for tires yesterday and asked them to look into it. The service rep said that not only could they repeat it but on investigating the issue, the noise no longer stopped after a few seconds and stayed on continuously. The service rep said the mechanic has no idea what it could be and they need to look into it. They gave me a loaner for the night Anyone have this problem before? Any thoughts to what it might be? I am waiting to hear what they say today. E
