Guys, I have dreamed about 911 ownership since I was about 3 years old and have now decided that now is the time to take the plunge! After owning a 350Z, which was good fun, I am now elevating myself up to what can only be describedm in my opinion, as the most iconic sports car ever built - the 911! Some people think I am disturbed by my love of the 911 but I just think it is stunning. I know exactly what I am after which is detailed below and have attached some candidate vehicles which I will be looking at and any advice would be much appreciated. Looking for 996 ideally C4S - preferably cab Must be under 30,000 miles Would ideally like PCM2 but not that bothered Must have the PSE - guaranteed to get the attention of the neighbours Also has to be manual Have £30k burning a hole in my pocket and would truthfully be more comfortable if the car had a Porsche warranty. I am presently driving around in what can only be described as a s~~tbucket which is a Ford Fiesta - no jokes but I reckon most girls average jewellery worn on a Sat night is worth more than my ride! I was thinking about a Boxter but have not thought if I am going to go bankrupt I want to do it properly and go the whole hog. Here are a few of the cars that I have shortlisted so would appreciate your thoughts. Car 1 Car 2 Car 3 Car 4 Cheers Nick

Nick, just my opinion, If I had a 30k budget I would stretch it to a 997 - LOJO
Welcome Nick, Or a 996 Turbo - Simon
Agree with the above, if I can get £30k ish together in the next 12 months I'll be looking at a 997 or 996 Turbo. You won't regret any 911 though :thumb: Cheers and welcome, Phil
Having brought a C4S 8 weeks ago your going through the same dilemers as i had. I started with a £30k and was looking for a C4S cab with 30-40k miles Looked into a turbo but to get a good one you'd need to add £5k - £10k Also wanted to by from an inde for a bit of piece of mind. Having looked at a few I think condition is more important than milage or spec. The examples you've picked out all look good. Interior colour is something to consider tho. I would defo get a warranty as well. i ended buying an 03 C4S coupe in Seal grey. When sitting next to a cab to me just looked so much better. It also had 50k but condition was spot on.
Hi Nick, I bought a 997 <£35K It was high mileage. I've had it almost a year now and no real problems. so don't rule out a 997. Pav
If you can afford a 996 turbo then go for it as at the end of the day you know you'll get one next to you at the lights and get smoked... I have a 996 turbo I looked at C4's 996 and 997 but at the end of the day I wanted to get the best of the range they do for the 911 all be it not the newest one but it's still one of the fastest cars on the road. why a Cab tho? you say it's the shape you like about the 911 but the cab's just look horrible.. I must admit I kinda also like smoking all the 997 C2's C4's etc. yes they might be newer but at the end of the day there left wishing they had got a turbo instead.. I even raced a 997 turbo the other day i dont he was expecting me to be on his rear bumper either. it also smokes 360 mondena's and f430's... the list goes on... I would say also that the condition is more important than the miles. make sure you have full service history and logs of any repairs it's had. if your looking at around the 30-40K miles mark make sure it's had a major service as this will cost you over a grand at Porsche. all in all there great cars they have there small faults tho but i've never had so much fun and so many pairs of brown pants while driving it..
IMO the 996 Turbo is one of the best value-for-money performance cars you can buy for approx £30k. Another bargain 911 I would consider is the 996C4S...it has the Turbo looks and can be bought for low/mid £20's....looks fab(esp in Black) Good luck and post when you find your car. :thumb:
C4S & 997 C2/C4 have a much weaker engine than the turbo 996 so it would be an obvious one for me if I had £30k in the back pocket.
