Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Bought a 2009 997.2 recently with 9700 km on it. Had it a month and have driven 4000 km. Have added 2 litres of oil in that time. Forgetting about what the manual says, is that excessive? Seems high to me.

POST 2Original post

Possibly, but not necessarily. The DFI engines have reported some increase in oil consumption over their predecessors. There are several threads on this forum, Rennteam, and ******** about this. There was more chatter when the DFI engines were first introduced in 09, and it seems to have quieted down suggesting that the problem is either not widespread or oil consumption in these cars leveled out w/ mileage. You've certainly driven the car a lot in a month so if this consumption and use is typical you may want to take the car to the dealer and have it checked.

POST 3Original post

Do you notice any smoke on startup when then engine is cold? How about the exhaust tips, are they heavily coated with soot?
