Afternoon all, Apparently, Porsche now recognise the 987 as a classic according the Porsche Club UK. I’m unsure if this is just referring to the Boxster version or does this include the 987 Cayman S. Does anyone know?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It should be a classic… the 987 is an interesting car. It really didn’t have its own identity when it came out… looks like a step son of the 911 (kinda)… now, the 718 has its own vibe… more so anyway. Not to mention Porsche has a branding problem with certain silhouettes
@ ZeusPorscheCaymanS - If I remember correctly, Porsche formally identifies things as "classic" after a certain amount of time -- which means that different support (parts sourcing, etc.) are now available to it, etc. From my discussion with those guys last fall (at the Newport Concours here in RI, USA), I think it's more of a logistics thing than anything -- as opposed to a judgment of what the guys in Zuffenhausen think "what's cool or not." Hope that makes sense.
