Anyone care to share their experiences/trials/tribulations/outcomes with either of these on the base 2.9 engine? I know there's plenty of stuff by the 'S' owners...these are going to be the last mods I make to my car...this calendar year :hilarious:....thanks
your mod list already looks pretty cool, unfortunately I don't have either pulley or lightweight flywheel... I have a 2.9 cayman and I'm thinking of adding a few mods too... those tarrett sb + droplinks look tempting (don't mean to thread jack)...
Thanks....its come along quite a bit. I give a +1 to the Tarrett setup, however from a value/stiffness standpoint...the H&R bar I had on my first 987.2 gave a little more oversteer at the limit which I liked. It was also a much thicker bar. Im looking at the flywheel/pulley stuff bc my experience in the past has been the benefit of just faster revving, which in our wonderful 2.9 cars I would imagine is like adding sprinkles and sparklers to a hot fudge sunday. I already have a straight pipe set up, a very aggressive Evomsit tune redlined to 7,800, and some catless headers going on next week. Im addicted to how this motor sounds in the upper regions of the rev band...with the tune and some race gas, it feels like it will NEVER stop. My shortlist after the flywheel/pulley to 'finish' the car are: Bilstein coilovers , a lighter set of 18" wheels vs the 19" ones I have (people wont shut up about how good they look, but I personally don't like the way the car feels...my last 2 boxsters handled better with 18's), some better rotors with Hawk pads (my fav) and some RS doorstrap pulls like I had on my '74 Carrera . MAYBE a Sport Design steering wheel from the 981 if I feel like really wasting money lol.
did you ever find an underdrive pulley for this car?
