Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, starting to attack those winter jobs, got 2 of my list, front suspension links and rear high level brake light fixed, and onto the 3rd job. My turbo like others has had a ringing noise from the N/S, turbo waste gate stuck. Was hopeful that possibly with a bit of Wd40 etc I may have been able to loosen off, but turns out the end of the rod actuator and the external lever on the waste gate were pretty rotten and bascially fell off. Not worried to much as had in the back of my mind the turbo may need to come off to be replaced or refurbed, and indeed if I'm doing 1 seems sensible to do both since there so exposed to the elements and what the rear wheels chuck up. So to the Q, has anyone any DIY experience for the turbos removal, I've had a quick look and doesnt look to bad, indeed looks possibly simpler to detach c/w the manifolds and drop the whole exhaust system, turbos and everything, to allow splitting of the turbos from the exhaust system easier. Any hints tips would be welcome before I get myself in a pickle.
