Can you guys help? 2002 Boxster S with 105K Have a P0300 through P0303 codes (bank 1) and P01340 with misfire at idle and low revs, then smooths at RPM, but, then I noticed a chain type noise at 2500 or so? Concerning to say the least. All happened right after I got a full tank of Shell Premium, btw. Any thoughts? Could it be chain guides on IMS ro just plugged Injectors or bad MAF....need help please!

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Variocam actuator slow or failed, IMO.

Are you saying Solenoid gone bad? Or the actual mechanism?
Can anyone help me on this< I got one reply that it may be Variocam Solenoid...could be, but is that all? could it just be the tensioners?
Quotes source post: 600140
No, it is not the tensioners. P1340 is very specific, it indicates that the chain on bank 1 is out of position high, which could be the VarioCam solenoid, the VarioCam unit itself, or the chain has jumped time due to pad wear. This is going to require further investigation to determine which one it is.
