I rather like the spoilers that are fitted to the Turbo models and wondered if it was a big job to fit one to a C4S? Although I love the originality of my car - I do like to kid myself that I am a bit of a purist, but I can't help thinking it would look much better with a fixed rear spoiler rather than the up and down grille. Does anyone know if this is possible as a retro fit?

I would of thought so. Cant see it being a hard job ! The boot lid should fit straight on, I am unsure about the spoiler coming up, and how the wiring would plug in??
Don't do it, you will ruin those beautiful lines. :hand:
So are you saying the 996 TT is ugly ?
996 C4S rear spoiler what about one of these ? http://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod6396/Rear-Spoiler-Aerofoil-GT2M-Porsche-996-C4S-Coupe--Cabrio
Not 100% sure the Turbo one would fit. The panel between the top of the engine lid and the rear window are different. The Turbo one is plain and the C4S has the brake light. Also, you would lose the reflector along the engine lid, which would make it look a bit odd for a 4S.
Re: 996 C4S rear spoiler :floor: Ha ha - all of a sudden I've gone back to being a true purist!!!
Re: 996 C4S rear spoiler +1 That does look pretty bad!
yep OTT imho :nooo:
Turbo desk should fit straight onto a C4S as they are both wide body. You will have to modify the airbox as the turbo spoiler needs to hydrolic rams to lift the spoiler at speed, and the right hand one intrudes into the space where the airbox is on a naturally aspirated 911. You will also likely need a left hand desklid damper (not sure that is the right phrase, but the black thing which stops the decklid from dropping when opened - you most likely only have one on the right hand side is it's like my C2). BrightBlue had one on his C4S before selling it to me (turbo spoiler that is). I tried to get it to fit a C2 narrow body but would not fit. I'm sure he said, appart from the airbox mod, it went straight on. The pics he sent me of it on his car looked good, and certainly not out of place. Just don't keep the turbo badge on :hand:
I was sat in traffic last week on the way to work, having just pulled onto the A52 from the M1 at Nottingham, and there was a midnight blue C4S with a large spoiler on it. I thought it looked really good and not at all out of place. They had managed to retain the red reflective strip but there was no C4S badging. I'm sure it wasn't the spoiler shown in the pictures above, but I am also sure that it wasn't a genuine Turbo spoiler either. A very attractive brunette was driving it (presumably called Louise)
