Hi all, I it’s my first time changing my rotors and I accidentally bought two sets of rear rotors. I know that the rear rotors are 299mm and the front is 298. Just curious is it possible to put them on the front? I alternate order the proper front rotors but I’m still curious if it would be possible.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

It would help to know more about the car ie. year, model etc. I don't know of any car where the rear rotor is larger than the front. The bottom line would be to buy and install the proper sized rotors.
I see from your other post you have a 2008 Cayman . I think you have the front dimension wrong. Fronts should be much larger than rears. On my 987.2 Cayman (2.9L) the diameter is F=318, R=299. Besides that the hat on the rears also houses the parking brake so it is larger.
Plus the different thicknesses, offset, pad sweep area is also likely different. There are many variables outside of just the diameter and PCD. While you're ordering your front rotors, note that the L and R are different part numbers from Porsche due to the curved cooling vanes. Not all aftermarket manufacturers but some do.
I agree and I have ordered the proper front calipers. I ordered from fcp euro and the fronts diameter lists as 298mm for an 987.1 2008 base cayman .
