Has anyone remapped their 996 to tweek the bhp and torque? I've seen an advertised 16bhp increase for £390. Do you think that it is worth it or any other sub £1,000 mods that you can recommend? All opinions welcome! :thumb:

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

i recently purchased a Softronic remap for my 997 and have been really pleased with the results. Forget about the figures and try and find out how the car drives after the remap has been done. In my case its been brilliant. i will eventually take it on a RR to see if the bhp / torque have gone up, but i'm in no hurry. some companies (revo i think) will put the remap on and it will automatically return to standard if you dont pay for it. other companies offer a money back gaurantee.
I did on my previous C2 in conjunction with a few mods i.e. exhaust and CAI, made the car more responsive wouldnt necessarily say faster - in any case 16bhp is ~5% increase in power so you have to get your head round £ vs BHP value. IMHO you would be better investing the money in suspension/geometry and a driver training day you will get far more out of the car. Welcome BTW - S
My car is SuperChipped and adds approx 16 bhp max. The driveability and midrange are enhanced noticeably. The fueling is not really changed (as an ideal NA can't suck in anymore air per cycle) more the timing retardation for greater power. Have a look at the RR results (linky in sig) or here: http://www.superchips.co.uk/curves/996c4yr1999.pdf
