Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys. I'm getting my new Alpine headunit tomorrow and was wondering which harness I will need to fit the unit. I'm not sure if the car came with a Bose system as standard or not. I have attached a picture of the existing plugs. Cheers!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm guessing this is the one I'm after?: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Autoleads-PC9...Cabling_ET?hash=item3c9fcc53a8#ht_2143wt_1167

POST 3Original post

It looks like you have Bose (if you only have the two plugs in the back of the std stereo). The descripton for the ebay lead is correct however the picture is incorrect, the red 20 pin plug should have the centre section of pins populated (to match the green section on your original plug) as this is the amplifier line out.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers for the reply mate. I've just figured out that I have the upgraded 10 speaker Porsche system which is between the standard stereo system and the Bose one so the Autoleads harness should work fine. Is this amp & speaker combo considered to be a decent sounding setup?

POST 5Original post

You could require the PC9-410 adaptor Halfords stock loads on the shelf so it could be worth a trip to see what suits your needs and matches up to your new headunit.

POST 6Original post

When i upgraded to a double din unit I needed a similar harness. Cant remember the number unfortunately but check out the double din threads and you should get a link.

POST 7Original post

I have just looked at it and I follow it now. The 408 is used if you don't have line outs on your replacement HU (so it attenuates the speaker outputs) and the 410 is used if you do have the line outs.
