Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Have found only a few manual versions of these engines online, some with shockingly low mileage. However, most have come from tiptronic cars. Is it possible to use this as a replacement for my manual Cayman ? I gather a new ECU may be needed to account for the changes? Edit: a word

POST 2Original post

Yes, clutch, ECU, and old parts from your existing car should allow for this exchange. Its a good idea to beef up the motor's oiling system before installing if you want to track the car. Bore scoring is a different matter. I would guess to install the auto engine with the necessary manual parts and follow Jake Raby's instructions regarding avoiding bore scoring in his 4 part video series. I am sure you can find how to articles to help avoid any major issues by googling this topic.
