Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Ok, one of those days  I need to remove the trim panels of the steering wheel column (where the turn signal, cruise control and wiper levers are). In the Porsche POSES, steering wheel removal page, it references the article: "Remove trim for steering column.→ 481319 21 Removing and installing trim - Removing" But of course the 481319 21 is nowhere to be found (after all day trying to install POSES again, yeah the one and only article needed is not existent. One of those days) The only 481319 article is from a car with the type "9PA" (I suppose that is some kind of truck or something, maybe re badged with a Porsche crest for marketing), but that article is really different and doesn't applies to a 987 There are a pair of holes in the under panel, but is not visible what kind of fastener, torx or other, it is. So any of know how to remove the steering column trim panels or have this 481319 (21) page of the Porsche workshop manuals?

POST 2Original post

If you look at my article in our ARTICLES section on removing the gauges to install yellow gauge faces, I had to remove that steering column trim to do so. As I recall there are torx screws way up inside those two long holes and I had to go to a store to buy a torx driver with a longer shaft because none of the tools I had would reach. I don't remember the torx size off hand but it was a standard size, nothing weird, just hard to get to.

T10, I had to buy a longer one too. There's also a pesky harness holder clipped to the base, a small flat blade will tease it free.

Thank you very much guys! The article was very helpful
