Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I'm thinking of selling my 996 and after some pointers on price, before advertising, thinking of leaving the UK. I bought it 18 months ago paid 25K and looking at the bills have spent approx £25-30k since , and done approx 5k miles, anyway here's a quick spec, everything works as it should, all the big expensive nasty things have been sorted. Porsche 996 C2 Tiptronic S Factory GT3 Aerokit Cup 1999, Arctic Silver, Boxter Red, 88K miles, RHD MOT/Tax July 2010 HPI Clear, OPC service history. Standard CD / Changer Tracker No PCM Climate control TC Factory red/clear light kit 3 or 4 owners I think Specification Includes: New= 500 - 1000 miles New Pirelli P Zero tyres all round New Full uprated Hartech engine rebuild, shells, bearings, liners mod, IMS, RMS uprated etc New Fabspeed supercub muffler cat / muffler bypass Oettle back boxes New Recaro Carbon fibre GT3 seats Black Porsche OEM Outdoor car cover Recent Discs/ Pads New Front Radiators / Aircondensors & new pipes / re gas New rack, PAS hoses New Bosche Lamda Sensors New Beru Plugs New Beru Coil packs / bolts New exhaust gaskets / clamps 2 x New keys / remote fobs New Porsche Tequipment Roll cage New Xenon HID KIt New LED sidlights New 4 wheel laser alignment Private plate Gemballa GTR 650 Wheels Black / Silver Rim / Dish K&N panel filter DMS remap New TPC supercharger kit (unfitted) 450bhp All original parts will be included What you think I should pitch it at, not in any need or hurry to sell. Cheers brumbrum

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Missed a few bits: New Paddle shift steering wheel New KW suspension Drop links, bushes / roll bars upgraded Cheers

POST 3Original post

I'm guessing you should get back at least what you paid for it if not a little bit more. Whilst the amount of stuff you changed/modified will hold up the car's residual value, some, if not all parts, will be favourable to many 996 buyers - the majority of whom may want original parts (which I think you said you'll supply anyway). ~ Maxie

POST 4Original post

take off/ out the wheels, seats and the roll cage etc and sell separately sounds like £15/16,000 for the car

POST 5Original post

Wow, if that's the case (and who am I to argue against a dealer?), there is little point in 'upgrading' Porsche parts to Hartech parts (for example). I think, I would revert the car back to standard as far as I could and then sell the other stuff such as the wheels separately. ~ Maxie

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the replies, Mark out of interest what would you buy a standard 996 in for and retail at? Cheers

POST 7Original post

Too old for me to retail If it came in part exchange i'd be passing it on in the trade there appears to be quite a few similar car around

POST 8Original post

TBH, take the parts off... I would take the steering wheel
