My first post so hello to everyone. Unfortunately I have a problem that I hope one or more of you may be able to assist with. I have a year old Boxster 987S, the 3.4 variety with just a few thousand miles under it's wheels. I popped into my local OPC earlier today to have a browse at a 997 C4S they had for sale. I took the car for a spin and while I was doing so the dealer was going to give my car the once over...so far so good. They identified one problem with my car - they said that the clutch was very heavy and in all probability required replacement which wouldn't be covered under warranty as it was a wear and tear item. I was to say the least VERY surprised as I don't go dropping the clutch at 6000 revs and generally drive with a high degree of mechanical sympathy. I've not noticed a deterioration in the clutch over my year of ownership although I guess it's something that could have happened gradually. I'd just assumed that the clutch was normally heavy and got used to it. So, has anyone else experienced any similar problems at low mileages? Logically it requires a proper inspection by the dealer to discover the actual problem, be it the clutch or otherwise. Any advice appreciated. Cheers. Edited...Heavy cutch - requires a lot of effort to depress.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just trade them even for the 997.
Sounds like a plan. I'll try it in the morning
I have an 07 987S...I can't say that the clutch is heavy. In fact, I've never heard of a worn clutch ever feeling heavy...and I've been through a clutch or two, just not on my Boxster. I'd get another opinion before having any service done.
I have a 2007 box s too. About 6000 km, so low mileage too. No heavy clutch here, allthough it is heavier than your average diesel daily commuter.
