Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Squeaking & sticky sound on the hard top from the passenger side. any one experience with this problem? when i tried to stop the noise by pressing on it. it felt like the inside liner wasn't sticking the the hard top enough.

POST 2Original post

I assume you're talking about a Boxster, right? (I can see a Cayman in your avatar). If so, I asked this question a couple days back and there were very good answers IMHO. Basic Problem Boxster Hardtop rattles, squeaks and leak! - BoxsterBoard.com

POST 3Original post

no, its not for the boxster. its my cayman s. sounds weird, i know. but, its bugging the **** out of me. when you pressed up the head liner against the roofing, it seems like the head liner is not sticking well enough.

POST 4Original post

Hmmmm....Your Cayman S is a lot different than mine. I definitely don't have a back seat or a sun roof.

POST 5Original post

Yeah you have the same issue I have. It is a vibration in the headliner and it happens at certain speeds and depends on the type of road. There is not fix unless you have the dealer pull the headliner but my dealer was hesitant to do it because they were afraid it would cause more squeaks. If you push hard on the headliner it should stop but it really needs to be fixed by pulling the headliner.

POST 6Original post

i was thinking about bringing it to the dealer and have it fix. never got a chance to go. i guess i'll just have to get use to it, and find another ways to fix it. how did you deal with that noise? didn't sound annoy to you?
