I asked this on the Flat-6 forum along time ago but here it goes. I have a tiptronic trans right now and I wondered how much work would it be to change to a manual. My questions are as follows: 1. Is there a hole already pre-fabbed for the clutch push-rod in the firewall? 2. Will the computer freak out since the tip is gone? 3. Is the body any different around where the tranny goes, I figure the tip is larger so I believe there is plenty of clearance already. 4. Does the body need a shifter hole or does it already have it? 5. I would have to have different axles also right? 6. Someone mentioned on flat-6 that I have to have the coolant lines rearranged. Why? 7. A different cross-member? 8. Does the clutch/brake pedal assembly bolt right up? 9. Do I need a manual ECU? Please dont say "just buy a manual car", I have heard this already. I got this car for a good deal and 3.8% interest on a 5 year old car, I will never get this deal again. This will be aproject down the road.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
