I saw these mentioned in a Wall Street Journal article. http://www.aviationupgrade.com/airvalve.html Low profile tires make it very difficult to visually spot a puncture. These seem like a potential low cost alternative to installing a tire pressure monitoring system. Anyone use them? Any reason not to? I guess the seal could fail since they must hold the valve open to measure pressure. That does not sound too appealing.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

I used them (not that particular brand) on my wifes car so that its easy for her to tell if the tires are low. The brand I use is set at a particular PSI and the top shows green/yellow/red depending on the pressure. (its the same idea, a replacement cap on the existing valve stem)
