Ok so I've been waiting for the new cayman s and now I've seen a few photos and I'm just not over whelmed like I thought I would be . I know it's not fair to judge it off to crappy photos but I've changed my mind! I've decided to get a 991 base and here is my plan: 991 white with manual trans Carrera classic 20" wheels with colored crest. Blk leather Premium package. Now the one fun item and here is the question? 1.What does the sport chrono do for me with a manual trans? Is it worth it? Or 2. I really like carbon fiber so I was thinking multi function steering wheel in CF with center consol? 3. Sport exhaust? I am not going to be tracking this car and just want a nice sports car that handles well and looks sharp! Am I missing anything that you think I really need to have ? Just trying to stay budget minded thanks all!!

Hi, Sports Chrono brings the best out of the Sport Exhaust..for real. It's like night and day (the Porsche 991 sport exhaust) with sport mode on. LOTS of insane gurgles and pops with sport mode. An absolute necessity imo. For the manual transmission, it doesn't make the shifting any slicker or anything like that, it just adds the improved throttle response and other secondary benefits as well as the dynamic engine mounts being included with the sport chrono package as well I believe. I drive the manual 7 speed with PSE and sport chrono and honestly would not dream of taking either one off. It's not the hyper-difference in shifting that the PDK with sport chrono is, but it is everything else. At some point in the future they are putting in a rev-matching downshift ability in sport mode plus, but I don't know what model year that will begin or what model years it will perhaps be retro-active upgradeable. I doubt my 2012 model will get the ability, but maybe 2013's can be upgraded or it could be just 2014 and up..just have no idea. I think the carbon fiber heated multifunction wheel and console would be awesome. I wish I had those.
