Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What excellent weather we are having, time for some serious fun - sliding about in the snow. Only problem is I can't get the PSM turned off in my car to allow this  I've even resorting to reading the manual which simply says press the PSM OFF rocker switch. Nothing happens when I do this, I've tried holding it down etc....nothing. Any hints anyone???

POST 2Original post

Not quite sure what is going on. A simple press is all that is required. When it is off you'll have a light on in the dash and a light on the switch.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

simple press, thats what I thought, and what the manual confirms. SOunds like this is one for the next service to me, but in the meantime my fun in the snow is severely hampered!

POST 4Original post

You have to be kidding! You absolutely DO NOT want PSM in the snow! If anything hampers your fun in the snow, it is any system that takes over control of the brakes and throttle... Wish I still had my quattro with an ON/OFF switch for the ABS... :wack:

POST 5Original post

Yep as indicated above, it's simply a case of toggling the PSM switch. I'd start by checking if the switch is faulty... No snow here, 9pm at night and still 30 degrees out... Kiwi
