Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After months of shopping, and not planning to get the car until October, and then having decided to get a 1999, I bought a 2003 996 this afternoon. Pics to follow - the first batch are fuzzy as the Werewife was pretty excited about the whole thing (She got the dealer down to a very reasonable level). More will follow in the coming days. Summary: 2003 996, Lapis Blue exterior, Savannah interior, 6-speed, 14,000 miles, CPO'ed, $52k. Let the mods begin!!! I flashed my lights at a Boxster on the way home - he looked so happy to be acknowledged, then a 993-owning neighbor saw us cruise by - big waves. This is fun!)

Congratulations - great color combo. Lapis is a terrific 996 color. Enjoy!! Phil

POST 4Original post

Very nice But you know, those Boxster people are OK too!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That's why I flashed (who am I kidding? I woulda flashed the lights an old lady on a tricycle, I was so buzzed).

Porschedog - Congrats on getting your P-car. Very nice. I LOVE the color, but then again, I could be a little biased! Enjoy it! BTW - Here is a pic of my dachshunds (a.k.a. the crack Security Team).

We went to the Seminole Hard Rock Casino last night - we pull into a line of about 100 cars - there is a valet area to the right - no thanks. I want the parking garage area where I can go to the roof and find an empty area, but as we pulll closer, I see a Garage Closed sign. That sucks. When we are at the head of the line thta is being pointed to the dirt, rock-strewn parking area, I roll the window down and - very politely -ask if I can sneak into the garage and "just look" to see if I can find a spot. The guy starts to say no, but then looks at the ar, shrugs, and trots over to move the barricade so we can roll on in. It was an awesome moment, especially to see the faces in the cars behind us. When we came out later (we were there for dinner, not to dump dollars into the casino - the were wife says, loudly, as we get off the elevator, "You won a Porsche tonight?!?" Can I go for a ride?" and there it was, parked right in front of the elevator. As the people from Cleveland in tthe elevator stood there, gaping, we drove off. Let's see you do that in a Pontiac G6.

Awesome car, enjoy!! Great color, don't forget to drive it and not baby it!

POST 15Original post

Personally, I like the looks I get from the soccer-dads driving the minivans. In a way you gotta feel sorry for them as they are hating life behind the wheel

As a card carrying Honda Odyssey and '02 Targa owner, some of us have the best of both worlds. My 4th of July weekend involved a road trip to Atlanta in the Odyssey with two happy kids under 4 years old watching DVDs (3.5 hrs at a nice 75-85mph pace)), some shopping, the new Georgia Aquarium, great return drive, leave kids with babysitter, switch to Targa, roof open, take wife to dinner then go to the Hootie & The Blowfish concert, then return home. Oh, and she knows and loves to drive the manual transmission Targa. And currently, I'm the only one who plays soccer in the family!! Piccia '02 Targa '05 Honda Odyssey Touring '02 Audi allroad (53K miles, beautiful, great car, FOR SALE - Cheap!)
