Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Looking for a part number for this fastener receptacle. It is what the tail lamp access cover quick lock fastens into. I've searched all the part diagrams I can find. TIA

POST 2Original post

i dont recognize it but from your description it sounds like this cover here: https://www.eurospares.co.uk/Porsche/Cayman_987/Cayman_987_(2007)/PartDiagrams/807-001/LUGGAGE_COMPARTMENT number 9? maybe put in the correct year and model and the diagram will reflect the correct one. You should also include that info for people to help you.

POST 3Original post

So I found that diagram and Im pretty sure that number 9 is depicting the male portion of the fastener. It's a quarter turn quick fastener and the plastic clip in my picture is what it locks into. I don't see it depicted in the diagram. But thanks

Josh - Please DO NOT select thumbnails for photos in posts you make here. People aren't as likely to bother opening them, and when you're asking a technical question the more info you give people, the better the chance they'll respond. Here's what will help people see what you're asking them to see: Notice that I cropped your photo so the significant part is dominant. Any tech questions should have the year/model of your car withiin them somewhere, or in the title of the posting. Again - it's a way to attract eyeballs that might have answers. General suggestion - better questions get better answers. Meanwhile, welcome to Planet-9, the Friendly Porsche Forum. When you have a chance please visit New Member Introductions and tell us all about you and your Porsche. Photos are very welcome (you'll probably get nagged if you don't post any.. we like photos of Porsches here..)

POST 5Original post

In my experience I have found that when Porsche does not list a separate part number, that part is only available as a part of a larger assembly. In other words, it's not available separately. My next step would be to go to a dismantlers to find a used example of the assembly, then either use that in total, or harvest the small part you're looking for.

POST 6Original post

Without knowing the year, model, or trim level, my off the cuff guess is that it is a retainer/guide of some sort for cables. Trunk lid cables for the opening actuator or wiring bundles possibly. Not enough info though.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
