Hi Having got the 996 Companion book for Xmas I have been trying to decipher my car's option codes. The main code on the label under the bonnet lid reads 'L3D8 AD'. I know the 3D8 refers to the Cobalt Blue colour, but can't find the AD code in the book. It will be refering to the interior trim and colour which is black, there is a AE code in the book but nothing for AD. Does anyone know what this exactly refers to? Many thanks :?:

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

As far as I know there isn't an official list of interior codes shown on the Vehicle Identification Label. By comparing the colour codes shown in the Porsche PET, and the codes shown in the Order Guides, I have compiled the list below. The letter/number shown is the first character of the Interior Colour Code shown on the VIL. 3 – Natural Grey 4 – Natural Brown or Cashmere Beige 6 – Classic Grey 8 – Black A – Black C – Graphite Grey S – Savannah G – Metropole Blue E – Metropole Blue B – Space Grey J – Nephrite Green M – Boxster Red D – Natural Dark Grey T – Natural Brown P – Cinnamon Brown
Thanks Richard. The 'A' is certainly right. Does anyone know what the 'D' in AD would stand for?
