Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5000 mi. on mine and have never experienced a stall.
not yet 09 cay 3k
haven't stalled... ~2.8k miles
9.3K miles, no stalls
Was the A/C on?
I'm not surprised it stalled; 1st on PDK is longer than the manual, and my 07's 1st gear at idle is 5mph. The increased load of driving up the incline was probably too much for the (600?) RPM.
it should never stall...if it occurs again have the dealer look at it...could be anything :idle air control, clutch not releasing
Mine has 950 miles and I haven't stalled the PDK but did have a strange experience with it yesterday. While starting it (engine warm) it started then emitted a loud 'clunk' and stopped. It almost felt like it was BETWEEN "park" and "reverse". I'm sure all the PDK owners out there have had the experience I've had several times where I put it in "park" and it starts backwards because its actually in "reverse". You've REALLY gotta make sure it's fully in "park" before you release the shift lever button.
Actually I've not had that issue. On the original topic of stalling over a speed bump I'll try going over a couple in the 3-5 mph range to see if I can duplicate on my car.
Stalled an automatic???? Should never stall. Heck you can have it in "drive" on a steep hill and get off the brake and it should not stall. Either the gear holds or you roll backwards slowly but the engine should not stall.
I was suprised as well hence the post. If it happens again my OPC will get to see the car
Well....it's not an automatic transmission. If you leave it in gear on an incline it will not creep w/o a little throttle or some remaining inertia. If you touch the brake while decclerating or going slow up an incline it can stall. There have been some reports about this w/ the 997.2 . There are some software issues w/ PDK that have required the car being returned to the dealer. Typically there is a warning light about PDK emergency failure. In many aspects PDK is closer to a clutchless manual tranny than to a standard automatic w/ torque converted. Manual transmission cars can be stalled, although I know that never happens to anyone on CC. Right now if you've only stalled once I'd keep driving. If it happens again try to pay attention to the circumstances and consider a trip to the dealer for a software check.
excuse me, of course it is an automatic transmission. No clutch for you to depress to "roll" over the speed bump, now is there? What else are you supposed to do, press the throttle to make it over the speed bump faster and possibly cause damage. What when you come to a complete stop at a red light? Exactly the same, no clutch, HENCE automatic transmission, is it supposed to stall there too? I would be seriously pissed if a PDK would stall on me, since you do not have a clutch. It may come to an instantenous stop, without clutch, nothing you can do, and cause the follwing car to hit you. Of course I stalled my manual, with the emphasis on "I". If I have a friggin computer decide when to shift, it better NEVER stalls. This is not acceptable at all, not once.
