Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Quick question on the proper method for manually shifting my Tiptronic - when in manual mode I have been lifting off the gas when shifting (emulating to a degree manual shifting) - will this have any negative effect on the tranny, torque converter, engine, etc??:thanks:

POST 2Original post

Highly doubt it, you're fine, don't worry about it.

POST 3Original post

No, you won't hurt anything, but there's not much benefit to doing it either.

POST 4Original post

Are you doing it upshifting, downshifting, or both? Certainly it's not necessary to do that, and I'm not sure what if any benefit there would be. Likewise, I doubt it hurts anything if that's the way you like to do it. That's my :2cents:

POST 5Original post

One of the benefits of tip is that you can do full throttle upshifts. No need to lift off at all!
