Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello. I have a 2007 Caymen S which has a " Porsche sicker decal" on the upper back window. Its kind of low profile and you have to be close to the car to really see it. My brother just Porsche a 991 series 911 and it did not have that sticker that said " Porsche" on the back window. Did Porsche only put that on the last generation but not the newer generation or perhaps the Caymen vs the 911? Does anyone know what the story is on that Porsche sticker decal on the back window? Why does it show up on the 2007 Caymen S but not the 991 generation of the 911? Thanks.

Sicker was on both my '06 and '07 Caymans and not my '07 911. I would guess its first gen Cayman specific.

The word "Porsche" is stenciled in black on the top of the rear hatch window (along with some shading/accent stripes) on all 987 Caymans. I don't think it is a sticker. I think that is what you may be talking about. Keep in mind that on 987 Caymans, there is no other marque branding (other than the crests on wheel center caps and the hood. So - from the rear (especially if it is de-badged) many people aren't sure what it is. I've been asked several times and once in a while they think it's a Ferrari. I think 911s usually have Porsche letters spelled-out on the rear deck. Since the 987s don't I guess we got the stencil. Personally, I prefer the "stealthness".

The last time I got a ticket.....not a happy moment.....the policeman had no idea what kind of car it was since the rear window designation isn't obvious. He was looking around the back of the car, couldn't figure it out, and ended up writing it up as a Cayman, which is on the trunk, instead of a Porsche. Since then I've added a Porsche license plate frame to make their job easier and more accurate.....not.
