Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone. got my 996 cabrio a few months back, loving it,(even with my mates "hairdressers" car wind ups), but im currently working abroad and have the car parked on my drive at home, my brother in law runs the car each week but i was wondering if anyone had any proven tips for outdoor storage? iv hear of laying carpet or cardboard under the car to prevent moisture on the chassis??? also i have a hard top is it worth fittting this or just leave the soft top up as iv heard its not good to leave the hood stowed for long periods??? any help would be brilliant John

POST 2Original post

TBH mate im not sure of any outside storage tips, i was in the same position with my car as i dont have a garage but luckily i found a professional vehicle storage not far from me in Aberdeen and for around £125/month its stored indoor all safe and sound and i dont have to worry about it sitting outside with all this snow. I know thats not much help. Jake

What about a decent outdoor breathable car cover? :?:

POST 5Original post

I owned 5 soft top cars in the past [not Porsche] but I would put the hard top on during the winter weather. The soft top being stowed will suffer a lot less than being exposed to the elements. TB
