Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Appreciate any ideas here folks... My remote key seemed to go a bit intermittent with regards to working over the last day or two. I assumed it was battery in the key or something. However now it seems to have completely packed in, requiring me to lock/unlock in the door and inserting key to position 1 in the ignition within 10 secs or so to prevent alarm. That in itself is annoying but tonight when pulling up at Petrol Station on fumes I now find the petrol cap lid is not releasing! I've unlocked and locked numerous times. As far as I can tell from manual unlocking the car either remotely or with the key should unlock the filler lid too? I'm screwed unless I can get any petrol in the car - any ideas what's causing this? Can I prise the lid open manually without breaking the locking mechanism? HELP!

Mine has a back plastic ringpull thing inside the drivers door hinge area when the door is open to pull the flap manually. Open the drivers door, sit in with door wide open and look at the inner wing top above the hinge. Hope that helps.

Your central locking button by the radio should do this. Get in, close the doors, press the button to lock the doors, then press again and everything will unlock...
