Some questions dear 996ers... Are the 3.4 exhausts the same? C2 and C4 - are they still interchangeable even if not the same? Are the 3.6 exhausts the same? Interchangeable if not? 2001 facelift? So for example can you swop a MY00 3.4 C4 with a 3.6 facelift? Thanks!
All interchangeable. Sound is different and a flexi carbuncle appeared at some stage in the range. Lloyd 6 ( 911uk's own 996 exhaust surgeon) to confirm. Further to this, Lloyd,did you look at feasability of 997 boxes on a 996? Is the mounting the same? I realise a little exit mods would be required.

Yep, I have 3.6 boxes on my 3.4, so completely interchangable. :thumb:
3.6 cans fit the 3.4 without any mods. You will need to swap the mounting plates over, the studs on a 3.6 are wider apart. 3.6 cans are much lighter and slightly louder than 3.4 997 will fit a C4S if you take 1.5" off the end of the cats but too much modding required to fit on other models, this is because the exit points are too close together. C2 and C4 are identical. C4S cans will also fit.
