Can someone shed some light on why 2005 and 2006 911's are being offered at prices below 2002's?? I have been searching for a 2004 cabrio for quite some time, and I am starting see better pricing for 2005/06 models.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Perhaps the market had started to take into account that the 2005 & 2006 have the non serviceable IMS system...........

Some (most?) of the 2005s have the serviceable bearing - don't know the cutoff - but you may be right as to why the lower price for those models.

The problem is that there is no "cutoff", the larger bearing appears across the model year to the point that the only way to know which one is in the engine is to take it apart and look at the IMS center bolt, if it is a 22MM, it is the non serviceable unit. There is no other known way to know..........
