Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When I start my 2002 4S, the engine starts great. No weird noise. When warmed up, there seems to be a slight clatter from the rear for like a millisecond. If I was to start today cold, no noise. Is that normal? Thanks, David

POST 2Original post

Loose baffle in muffler or cat? Only guessing...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would think that would always happen. Maybe something expands and creates a little gap to rattle. Only at start up. No rattle afterwards while driving..

I took it for what you said...warm start you get a slight rattle (or clatter). That means to me your mufflers and cats are hot. Expansion of a slightly loose baffle, when hot, could possibly create a slight clatter or rattle.
