Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The CD player in my 2000 Boxter will only eject the disk sporadically. Sometimes it only takes 2 or 3 attempts. At other times 8 or 10 will not do the job. Occasionally the disk will only partially come out and then go back in. No variance in routine (face closed/face open, after playing/immediate attempt, old disk/new disk, etc.) seems to make any difference. The unit is the upgraded system for that year's vehicle. Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

Try a CD lens cleaner first in case it's just dust. If that doesn't help, the eject motor or rollers may be worn. You can gently assist the disc out, but a repair or replacement might be needed.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I tried a lens cleaner without effect. Not sure how t assist it since no portion of the disc comes out. Looking in the slot I can see the disc come up, but nothing more.
